New additions to Classical Music Library database: 1,811 albums (7,767 tracks) from a wide variety of labels including material from Bel Canto Society; Bridge; Cantolopera; Gimell; Haenssler Classic; Lyrichord; Mark Custom; Mode Records; New Albion; North/South; and Wirripang.

New artists and ensembles include: The Tallis Scholars; Stables Ensemble; Beniamino Gigli; Auer String Quartet; Virginia Wind Symphony; Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic; The Wellesley Chamber Singers; Amadeus Guitar Duo; Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra of Leipzig.

CML just added another 1,409 albums (35,688 tracks) from the EMI label. There are now over 50,000 tracks of EMI content in the collection.

CFAL’S new tool for listening reserves is called Variations. Visit this excellent guide for information about Variations, how to set it up on your own computer, etc. researchguides.baylor.edu/variations

Variations, an open source digital music library developed by Indiana University, offers many exciting features for teaching and learning. These include the ability for users to access the material on and off campus, create customized bookmark files, playlists, and self quizzing options. CFAL is also beginning to incorporate another powerful feature of Variations providing access to online musical scores to accompany the audio recordings. Users can also create and save their own annotations on these images.
