The End of My Master’s Program

This past week wrapped up what has been an incredible 16 months. I remember prior to my decision to go back to school, one of the criteria to make that decision rested on how much experience I would gain over the next year and a half. After looking back, there is no question I made the right decision.

To provide a list of the several amazing experiences I have had during my time here would be unnecessary and would not properly communicate the overall value I have received from the Baylor MBA program. However, here is just a sample:

Obstacle courses with people you’ve never met

Working at a Hedge Fund on Fifth Avenue in New York City

Staying up all night finishing projects with your fellow candidates

Competing in the University of Illinois Case Competition

Interviewing with several investment banks for internships

Being a venture capital analyst in Austin for G-51

Presenting to Coca-Cola executives for our Focus Firm Case

Going to the NBMBA Career Fair in Houston

Winning the Big 12 MBA Case Competition

Landing a job with a major airline in their fuel-hedging group

For me, this small portion of my experiences was well worth making the decision to come to Baylor. Even though you’re in Waco, the program does a great job of putting you in front of as many people as possible. It all goes back to how hard you work and how you can create value.
